XMUT Team has won the 2016 Baja SAE China with a score of 686 out of a total of 700, and will participate in the 2017 Baja SAE in U.S.A. representing universities of China.
Baja SAE is an intercollegiate design competition run by SAE International, a globallyactive professional association and standards organization initially Society of Automotive Engineers. It started in the United States in 1976, preceding the Formula SAE.
Baja SAE challenges engineering students to design and build an off-road vehicle, to discover and resolve technical challenges in design, test, and manufacturing, as well as business issues. The most rugged of all the competitions, Baja SAE gives the future engineers the first-hand challenge of pursuing their passion while managing real-life demands and priorities. Every year teams of engineering students entering the Baja SAE events across the US and around the world
The 2016 Baja SAE China is the first one of its kind in China, held between August 26 and 29 in Shandong Province. 29 teams participated in the competition including XMUT,Harbin Polytechnic University, Dalian University of Technology, and Tianjin University.
